Tis Well Statement of Belief

We believe that God put us on this Earth in the time and place of his choosing, and has guided us on the path that we currently find ourselves on. That path includes Tis Well Farm, which is centered around the three ideals of community, conservation, and compassion.

Community and relationships are essential for everything in life. Tis Well seeks to promote rich and intimate communities and relationships. Those relationships can take many different forms. It may be the relationship and community between farmer and the customer, the community that wholesome food can create among a group of friends, or the community between the farmer and his animals.

The natural resources and beauty of Tis Well Farm represent the daunting responsibility of conservation. We have a finite amount of resources on this planet and we have been entrusted with a small portion of them. Thus we must do all that is in our power to ensure that future generations have fertile soil to farm, clean water to drink, and fresh air to breathe.

Compassion is essential when dealing with humans and animals alike. Having an innate sense of compassion allows the farmer to treat his animals with empathy and love. Ensuring that the welfare of his animals is sometimes even put above his own.  John 10:14-15 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father.”  We truly hope that you know the good shepherd; our only hope of salvation and the reason we can extend love and compassion.

1 John 4:9-16 “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.  13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.”
